Canon announces mid-range 60D SLR with 1080p video capabilities

Canon EOS 60D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR

Canon has just officially announced their newest midrange DSLR, the 60D, merging the excellent internals of the Rebel T2i with a more rugged body, a flip-out swivel screen and impressive high-def vide capability at an affordable price.
Replacing the aged 50D, the new caera features an 18-megapixel sensor, a single DIGIC 4 processor and the ability to record 1080p video in H.264 at 24 frames per second… just like the cinema plays use! That video can also be edited in-camera, and there’s manual audio level control to make sure the sound’s as balanced as the white color.
Other features include an artculating 3-inch LCD display, an ISO range between 100-6400, which Canon is boldly claiming can be expanded up to 12800, although who’s really going to be shooting in a black hole without a flash anyway? As for software, you can even process and edit RAW images right within the camera, although again, Lightroom would serve you better.
The Canon 60D will be available at the end of September for $1,099, if you don’t need a lens, or $1,399 with the inclusion of a bundled 18-135mm, f/3.5-5/6 IS zoom lens.

Exciting EOS “Firsts”
For the first time in the history of the Canon EOS System, the new 60D camera features a large Vari-Angle 3-inch Clear View LCD screen with 1,040,000 dot/VGA resolution plus anti-reflective and smudge-resistant coatings for bright clear viewing from any angle. The new LCD screen is ideal for composing low-angle or overhead shots whether capturing still images or Full HD video clips.
Another first for the EOS system is the EOS 60D camera’s new Multi-Control Dial, which places a Multi-Controller and Set button inside the Quick Control Dial. This new control layout streamlines camera navigation for vertical as well as horizontal shooting and enables a cleaner camera design. Responding to customer requests, the EOS 60D also features a locking mode dial, which makes camera operation more secure by preventing inadvertent changes to the photographer’s selected shooting mode.
While the photography mantra of “get it right in the camera” still stands true, Canon’s new EOS 60D gives advanced photographers an edge with new in-camera features that enable users to enhance their images without a computer even after they have been shot. For the first time ever in an EOS camera, the EOS 60D features in-camera processing of RAW image files, new reduced resolution image copies, and post-processing creative image filters for exceptional flexibility in digital image rendering.
* In-camera RAW image processing features include Picture Style, White Balance (WB), Color Space, High-ISO Noise Reduction, Peripheral Illumination Correction, linear distortion correction and chromatic aberration correction. These powerful in-camera editing tools will allow photographers in the field to produce optimized images on the spot and generate JPEG files at various resolution and compression settings for immediate sharing, without affecting the original RAW data.
* Another great new feature for photographers-on-the-go is Canon’s new image resizing function. After capturing full resolution or smaller JPEG images, the camera can generate lower-resolution copies using menu commands. New lower-resolution settings include 1920 x 1280 for optimal display on HD televisions, or 720 x 480, ideal for immediate uploading to social networking and other photo sharing web sites. The original high resolution files remain unaffected by the image resizing function.
* Available for the first time in an EOS camera are Canon’s new creative image filters. Familiar to Canon PowerShot users, these fun photo effects help make a great image more dynamic, even after it has been shot. Canon provides four artistic filters that allow photographers to capture an image and then create and manipulate a digital copy of it.
o The Soft Focus effect filter helps dramatize an image and smooth over shiny reflections.
o The Grainy Black and White filter can give a different nostalgic perspective to any shot.
o Canon’s “Toy Camera” filter deliberately adds vignetting and color shift for a creative option when shooting a colorful scene.
o Users can also make a scene appear like a small-scale model, simulating the look from a tilt-shift lens, with Canon’s Miniature Effect filter, great when shooting any scene from a high vantage point.
Each of these filters can be applied to a captured still image in-camera to create a second “filtered” JPEG version, leaving the original RAW or JPEG file unaffected.
Another addition to the camera’s Live View function is Canon’s new Aspect Ratio feature whereby the Live View screen can display cropping lines for 1:1, 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios in addition to the standard 3:2 ratio. These cropping lines make it easier to compose images in Live View, and they can help to expedite printing when using Canon’s supplied Digital Photo Professional software. Custom aspect ratios are also applied to JPEG images whether captured directly in-camera or created with the EOS 60D’s in-camera RAW image processing function.
EOS HD Video: Continuing the Video Paradigm Shift
In addition to its new still capture capabilities, the EOS 60D features Full HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 resolution with selectable frame rates of 24p, 25p or 30p. Native 24p recording helps videographers achieve a more cinema-style look for their footage without the need for post-processing. The EOS 60D builds upon the great video capabilities Canon has introduced in recent DSLR cameras and packs them into a camera photo enthusiasts will love. Full HD video capture, along with selectable cinematic frame rates for both NTSC (National Television System Committee) and PAL (Phase Altering Line) standards, will help the EOS 60D to be the camera of choice among film students and photography students alike.
The new EOS 60D camera’s movie mode also includes manual controls for exposure as well as manual audio levels in 64 steps, much like the latest firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark II HD-SLR. Users can set audio levels on the rear menu screen before shooting begins; once recording is initialized, audio adjustments are not possible. In addition, Canon has added an electronic Wind Filter to the audio controls within the movie shooting menu.
Canon has also included an in-camera movie editing feature, allowing users to shorten a video file by clipping segments from the beginning or the end, removing unwanted portions without outside software. This feature can dramatically accelerate workflow by reducing the time needed to upload video clips to a computer for further editing and assembly. The EOS 60D also includes Canon’s Movie Crop mode, which allows users to achieve 7x magnification when shooting SD video. Unlike the digital zoom feature found in many compact digital cameras, Canon’s Movie Crop mode crops the image directly from the CMOS sensor at full SD resolution to preserve image quality and still provide additional telephoto power.
Providing access to the right lens for any given shooting scenario, the EOS 60D DSLR camera is compatible with more than 60 Canon EF and EF-S lenses. The EOS 60D DSLR’s video functions are supported by two key proprietary Canon technologies, a DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor and a large APS-C–sized CMOS sensor capturing fine detail and color with an amazing cinematic depth of field. The Canon EOS 60D allows for three video recording modes – Full HD and HD in a 16:9 aspect ratio and Standard Definition (SD) in a 4:3 aspect ratio, all at selectable frame rates. The EOS 60D Digital SLR camera will record Full HD at 1920 x 1080 pixels in selectable frame rates of 24p (23.976), 25p, or 30p (29.97); 720p HD recording at 50p or 60p (59.94) and SD video at frame rates of 50p or 60p (59.94). The EOS 60D features a dedicated button to initiate live view for both video and still shooting. Once engaged, the same dedicated button will start and stop video recording.
Valuable Additional Features
Along with the adjustable LCD screen, the new EOS 60D DSLR features a class-leading 18-megapixel Canon CMOS sensor, a proprietary DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor, a 9-point Autofocus system and Canon’s exclusive iFCL Metering System (Intelligent Focus, Color, Luminance) giving it the power of a professional-level camera. Capable of capturing fast action, the 60D DSLR can shoot full resolution still images up to 5.3-frames per second (fps). The EOS 60D records its images and video clips to the photographer’s choice of SD, SDHC or new extended capacity SDXC memory cards.
The 9-point AF system on the new EOS 60D features f/5.6-sensitive cross-type focusing on all nine focusing points. Like the EOS 7D, the center AF point is a hybrid of standard cross-type and special diagonally-shaped “X” cross, with high-precision sensitivity for f/2.8 and larger aperture lenses. Complementing the AF system, Canon’s iFCL metering system, identical to that on the EOS 7D and Rebel T2i, takes color information into account and includes a 63-zone dual-layer metering sensor that reads both illumination and color for consistent results in all lighting conditions, keeping exposure levels stable from shot to shot, even as the light source changes.
Photographers will enjoy shooting in low light thanks to the EOS 60D DSLR’s wide ISO range from 100-6400 (adjustable in 1/3-step increments from ISO 100-6400 and expandable to 12,800) allowing it to capture beautiful images without flash during family milestone events such as wedding ceremonies, while still being equipped with a built-in pop-up flash for shooting the cake cutting ceremony and reception. The EOS 60D’s pop-up flash features a built-in Integrated Speedlite Transmitter for control of up to two groups of off-camera EOS Speedlites without the need for an external transmitter, providing an economical solution for multi-flash shoots.
Making accurate composition more convenient, the EOS 60D’s optical viewfinder provides 96 percent coverage along with Canon’s built-in single axis Electronic Level Display, which utilizes the exposure level scale below the picture area to let the photographer know when the camera is level. The Electronic Level Display is also visible on the camera’s LCD screen in both Live View and Movie modes. An artificial horizon display illustrates horizontal roll, allowing the photographer to know when the camera is in a fixed level position. The entire camera has been durability-tested to 100,000 exposures making the EOS 60D a reliable as well as a powerful imaging tool.

The Canon EOS 60D Digital SLR camera is scheduled to be delivered to U.S. dealers toward the end of September, and will be sold in a body-only configuration at an estimated retail price of $1,099.00i. Intel and Nokia researching 3D UI and holograms for cellphones

Chip maker Intel and cellphone leader Nokia have come together to create the first joint laboratory to focus on researching futuristic technologies for mobile devices, like 3D holographic displays for cellphones. The Intel and Nokia Joint Innovation Center, as they call it, opened on Tuesday in co-operation with the University of Oulu in Finland, Europe.
The lab will initially employ “about two dozen R&D professionals,” Intel wrote in a statement, stressing the need to research tech like 3G holographic displays for mobile devices, “a capability only found in science fiction movies today,” and user interfaces that mimic real-world interactions to enable “natural and intuitive” experiences.
3D holographic research should particularly benefit from the Oulu research community’s 3D interface expertise. The technology will enable future smartphones to display a 3D hologram of a person. The MeeGo operating system, another Intel-Nokia collaboration, is well suited to power the user interface the two partners have in mind. True to their open source mantra, the companies said that much of the lab’s research activity will also be open source.

Christian’s Opinion

This is an exciting development because hologram tech has been coming along at a snail’s pace. The problem with it is that it takes years of research and tons of money with absolutely no guarantee of success. Both Nokia and Intel are big spenders in the R&D game. Nokia is the biggest R&D spender in Europe, pouring $7.6 billion, or 12 percent of its $50.7 billion in 2009 annual revenue, into its R&D department that consists of almost one in three of its employees.
Intel spent $4.1 billion on R&D in the first nine months of last year. The fact that two industry heavyweights have joined forces on research doesn’t mean your next Nokia device will sport a 3D holographic display, but it certainly helps move the tech forward.

IBM’s million dollar CPU is the fastest in the world


Except for the true chip maven, computer processors always seem to have the feeling of sameness to them. But IBM’s just got us excited about CPU architectures again: at the Hot Chips 2010 conference, IBM announced their upcoming z196 CPU, which is really, really fast.
How fast? Let’s talk “fastest chip in the world.”
Intended for Z-series mainframe computers, the Z196 has a clock speed of 5.2GHz. Measuring just 512 square millimeters, the Z196 is fabricated on 45nm PD SOI technology, and on its surface contains almost one and a half billion transistors. Otherwise, it features a 64KB Level 1 instruction cache, 1.5MB of private L2 cache per core, a 128K Level 1 data cache and even a pair of co-processors dedicated to doing cryptographic work.
Whew. Blistering. Better, IBM says this puppy is ready to be let off the leash: they’re getting ready to ship the processor sometime in September.
Ah yes, computer builders, I can see the drool collecting in your mouth. But you might want to hold on a second before you get too excited: the Z196 is probably outside of your computer budget. IBM’s saying the chip will costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, and might even reach a million bucks per unit.
Hmm. Maybe that would be worth it… depending on how much it overclocks.

Wine Runs Windows Applications

How it Works?

The goal of the Wine project is to develop a "translation layer" for Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems that enables users to run native Microsoft Windows applications on those operating systems.

This translation layer is a software package that "emulates" the Microsoft Windows API (Application Programming Interface), but the developers emphasize that it is not an emulator in the sense that it adds an extra software layer on top of the native operating system, which would add memory and computation overhead and negatively affect performance.
Instead Wine provides alternative DDLs (Dynamic Link Libraries) that are needed to run the applications. These are native software components that, depending on their implementation, can be just as efficient or more efficient than their Windows counterparts. That is why some MS Windows applications run faster on Linux than on Windows.
The Wine development team has made significant progress towards achieving the goal to enable users to run Windows programs on Linux. One way to measure that progress is to count the number of programs that have been tested. The Wine Application Database currently contains more than 8500 entries. Not all of them work perfectly, but most commonly used Windows Applications run quite well, such as the following software packages and games: Microsoft Office 97, 2000, 2003, and XP, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Photoshop, Quicken, Quicktime, iTunes, Windows Media Player 6.4, Lotus Notes 5.0 and 6.5.1, Silkroad Online 1.x, Half-Life 2 Retail, Half-Life Counter-Strike 1.6, and Battlefield 1942 1.6.
After installing Wine, Windows applications can be installed by placing the CD in the CD drive, opening a shell window, navigating to the CD directory containing the installation executable, and entering "wine setup.exe", if setup.exe is the installation program.
When executing programs in Wine, the user can choose between the "desktop-in-a-box" mode and mixable windows. Wine supports both DirectX and OpenGL games. Support for Direct3D is limited. There is also a Wine API that allows programmers to write software that runs is source and binary compatible with Win32 code. For more information on Wine's features, see here.
The project was started in 1993 with to objective to run Windows 3.1 programs on Linux. Subsequently, versions for other Unix operating systems have been developed. The original coordinator of the project, Bob Amstadt, handed the project over to Alexandre Julliard a year later. Alexandre has been leading the development efforts ever since.

KDE SC 4.5 Available

The latest version of KDE SC (Software Compilation) incorporates wide-ranging improvements and udpates. This includes some 16,000 bug fixes, which gives you idea of the size of the project, a new applications caching system "KShareDataCache" for increased performance, and JavaScript templates for more flexible Plasma Workspace configuration.

KDE and Gnome are the two most popular Linux desktop environments. Most Linux distributions allow the user to choose which desktop environment to use. They are free and open source alternatives to Microsoft's Windows. For more information about the latest KDE release see the official announcement.

You can follow what is happening around the 4.5 release event on the social web live on KDE Community live feed. This site aggregates what happens on identi.ca, twitter, youtube, flickr, picasaweb, blogs and many other social networking sites in real-time. The live feed can be found on buzz.kde.org.

Running Windows Programs

We have several options for running Windows-only programs in Ubuntu. For some reason we used one of these :

  1. Find Linux equivalents for those programs.
  2. Run the native Windows program using Wine.
  3. Run the native Windows program using Crossover Office8 or Cedega.9
  4. Dual boot.
  5. Run an emulator.
For the first one, you can usually find some good guides if you do a Google search
for the keywords linux equivalents windows programs.
The third you'll have to pay for, but I hear good things about these programs.
I don't know how to do the fifth, and I've already provided a link to the fourth.
A bit about Wine... I don't know how it works, but it does seem to work with a lot
of simple Windows programs. I'll show you how I get Filezilla to work in Linux, as
an example.

Assuming I've already enabled extra repositories, first, I install Wine:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine

Then, I download the setup.exe file for Filezilla. When I double-click on it, Wine will
try to open the file. Then, the installer appears, just as if I were using Windows.
Instead of installing Filezilla to C:\Program Files\Filezilla\, I'm going to override the
default installation location and install it to
z:\home\username\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\Filezilla. For some reason, z:\ is
what Wine calls my Ubuntu partition.
Then, I set up a launcher (on the panel or in the menu) for the command wine
“z:\home\username\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\Filezilla\Filezilla.exe”
That's it. Now when I click on that launcher, Filezilla will load up.
If a Windows program does not work with Wine, you may need Crossover Office.
Cedega is a special version of Wine that's made for Windows-only games.

Manager Paket

Manager paket atau package manager dalam linux [ubuntu] berfungsi untuk, menambah, menghapus atau memperhaharui aplikasi pada sistem, termasuk pencarian komponen yang dibutuhkan oleh perangkat lunak.
Di ubuntu, kita kenal ada beberapa manajer paket yang biasa kita gunakan, yaitu :
  • Add/Remove Programs : untuk menginstall dan meng-uninstall program, biasanya ada di menu Applications ( untuk tiap versi namanya berbeda tapi memiliki arti yang sama)
  • Synaptic : Pengendali dari perangkat lunak dan kompopnen sistem, bisa kita temukan pada menu Systems, Administrations, Syanaptic Package Manager
  • Apt : untuk install / uninstall dengan menggunakan terminal

Untuk menjalankan aplikasi tersebut, kita hanya bisa menggunakan 1 opsi yang ada, dan memerlukan hak administratif.
Ketika kita menggunakan mode teks Apt (Advance Packaging Tool) untuk melakukan install/uninstall, maka kita akan sering menggunakan command berikut :

sudo apt-get update untuk meng update daftar paket aplikasi
sudo apt-get upgrade untuk menginstall seluruh daftar paket/upgrade yang tersedia
sudo apt get install namapaket untuk menginstall paket [nama paket]
sudo apt-get remove namapaket untuk menghapus / uninstall namapaket
apt-get help untuk melihat daftar perintah dan opsi apt

Seperti biasa, kita akan diminta untuk mengisikan pasword [hak] administrator.
Semua pekerjaan tersebut bisa kita lakukan manakala komputer terhubung dengan jaringan internet. Nah.. gimana kalau komputer tidak terhubung dengan internet?
Salah satu cara install aplikasi yang mudah di ubuntu adalah dengan berkas paket dengan akhiran / ekstensi .deb. Makanya kalau kita mau download lebih baik memilih paket installer dengan ekstensi .deb ini jo.. :) Kenapa .deb ? karena ubuntu memiliki hubungan erat dengan Debian GNU/Linux dan untuk mengeksekusinya kita tetap memerlukan hak administratif.
Cara install nya :
  1. Unduh/download berkas dimaksud. Apabila berkas itu memerlukan file pendukung / dependency, maka seluruh file tersebut harus kita download dan simpan dalam 1 folder
  2. Untuk menginstall-nya double klik pada berkas utamanya, maka akan secara otomatis ubuntumelakukan installasi, tapi apabila kita melakukannya dengan teks command, perintah yang kita gunakan adalah :
  sudo dpkg –i nama_paket.deb
Untuk melakukan uninstall berkas .deb tersebut di terminal lakukan dengan perintah :
  sudo dpkg –r nama_paket (tanpa .deb)
Nah itu jo.. tapi ngomong-ngomong kalau berkas-nya bukan berekstensi .deb gimana? masih bisa ga kita install? ehm.. tentunya bisa dong, cuma cara penanganannya sedikit berbeda. Gini aja, misal kita memiliki berkas paket ber-ekstensi :
.rpm – kita bisa menginstallnya dengan mengkonversi .rpm ke .deb. Untuk itu kita harus menginstall terlebih dahulu alien dengan perintah
sudo apt-get install alien ikuti sampai selesai. Nah kalau sudah selesai, cara kita untuk mengkonversi berkas dengan paket .rpm tersebut adalah sebagai berikut :
sudo alien nama_paket.rpm selanjutnya berkas tersebut akan ber-ekstensi .deb. Tinggal kita install dengan double klik atau dengan sudo dpkg –i nama_paket.deb

Administrator Sistem

Administrator / root adalah user dengan level tertinggi. User dengan hak administrator akan memiliki kewenangan penuh dalam menangani sistem operasi. Karena alasan keamanan, maka di linux termasuk Ubuntu, hak administrator ini tidak diberikan secara bebas. Akses administratif ini diberikan kepada user yang dapat menggunakan perintah sudo untuk melakukan tugas administratif sistem. Siapakah yang berhak mendapatkan akses sudo / administrtor? Yang pertama adalah user pertama kali sistem di-install, untuk selanjutnya bisa diberikan kepada user lain dengan pertimbangan tertentu.

Saat menjalankan perintah administraor / sudo maka secara default sistem akan menanyakan password, sebagai pengingat bahwa kita sedang/akan melakukan pekerjaan administratif sistem yang kemungkinan bisa membahayakan sistem apabila terjadi satu kesalahan dalam proses-nya. Dengan demikian kita akan lebih berhati-hati.

Untuk menggunakan sudo, maka pada shell / command cukup ketikkan perintah “sudo” sebelum menjalankan program dimaksud. Misal

#sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart  yang akan diikuti perintah mengisikan password administrator.

Tanpa sudo /  hak administratif, maka kita tidak akan bisa menggunakan perintah diatas [ /etc/init.d/networking restart ]

Cara  penggunaan sudo :

1. sudo su [ menggunakan hak administrator, dan prompt pada folder yang aktif]

2. sudo –i [ menggunakan hak administrator, dan prompt akan dibawa pada root “/” folder ]

Untuk menjalankan aplikasi berbasis grafik sebagai root, kita bisa menggunakan “gksudo”. Kita bisa mengetikkan kombinasi ALT+F2 dan ketikkan perintahnya disana bersama dengan program yang akan dijalankan, dan isikan password yang diminta.

Contoh :

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list [ dengan halk administratif kita akan mengubah isi file sources.list pada folder /etc/apt dengan editor gedit ]

Kita bisa melakukan editing, merubah isi dari file sources.list.

Untuk menambahkan user baru dengan hak administratif / sudo bisa kita lakukan denganklik pada menu  System Administration->. Kemudian klik pada pengguna ( user )  dan kemudian pada Properties. Pilih tab Hak Akses Pengguna / Privillage, dan tentukan hak akses-nya sistem dan periksa.

Mengaktifkan account root jarang diperlukan. Hampir semua yang perlu Anda lakukan sebagai administrator sistem Ubuntu dapat dilakukan melalui sudo atau gksudo. Jika Anda benar-benar membutuhkan login root terus-menerus, alternatif terbaik adalah dengan mensimulasikan sebuah shell root login menggunakan perintah berikut ...

#sudo -i

Untuk mengaktifkan akun root (yaitu menetapkan password) gunakan:

#sudo passwd root

Perhatian ! : Ketika anda mengguakan perintah tersebut, maka anda bersiap-siap menanggung apabila terjadi kesalahan pada sistem!!!

Login ke X sebagai root dapat menyebabkan masalah yang sangat serius. Jika Anda yakin Anda memerlukan account root untuk melakukan tindakan tertentu. Gunakan itu bila sudah tidak ada alternatif lain untuk mengatur sistem.



Menonaktifkan kembali akun root anda :



Karena alasan tertentu anda telah mengaktifkan account root Anda dan ingin menonaktifkan lagi, gunakan perintah berikut dalam terminal ...





#sudo usermod -p '!' root

Tentang Direktori & File Di Linux

Seperti halnya OS lain-nya, Linux juga memiliki direktory atau folder sebagai tempat penyimpanan data maupun file-file sistem. Pada linux hal ini diorganisir dan terstruktur, dengan “/” atau direktori root sebagai top level direktori, artinya semua direktori dalam linux berada dibawah “/” / direktori root.

Kalau dilihat dibawah direktori root tersebut kita akan menemui banyak direktori lainnya, misal :

• /bin - aplikasi biner penting
• /boot - berkas yang diperlukan untuk mem-boot komputer disimpan disini
• /dev - berkas device (peranti)
• /etc - berkas konfigurasi, skrip startup, dll (etc)...
• /home - direktori  (home) untuk pengguna, saat kita membuat pengguna / user maka akan disimpan   dalam direktori /home/namauser
• /lib - libraries sistem
• /lost+found - menyediakan sistem lost+found untuk berkas yang ada dibawah direktori root (/)
• /media - mount (memuat) removable media seperti CD-ROM, kamera digital, Flashdisk dll...
• /mnt - untuk me-mount sistem berkas
• /opt - tempat lokasi untuk menginstal aplikasi tambahan (optional)
• /proc - direktori dinamis khusus yang menangani informasi mengenai keadaan dari sistem,
termasuk proses (processes) yang sedang berjalan
• /root - direktori pangkal untuk root, diucapkan 'slash-root'
• /sbin - sistem biner penting
• /sys - mengandung informasi mengenai system
• /tmp - berkas sementara (temporary)
• /usr - tempat aplikasi dan berkas yang sering digunakan oleh pengguna (users)
• /var - berkas variabel seperti log dan database

Kita tidak bisa dengan seenak-nya menulis/merubah isi direktori tersebut, kecuali kita memiliki hak administrator / root. Bahkan untuk penanganan dokumen-pun linux dikenal memiliki tingkat keamanan yang tinggi, karena adanya hak ijin yang berlaku pada sistem linux.

Hak ijin ini akan memberikan ijin atau wewenang kepada user lain untuk melakukan eksekusi, perubahan isi atau-pun membukanya. Setiap berkas memiliki pembatasan akses, pembatasan
pengguna, dan memiliki asosiasi pemilik/grup.

Setiap berkas dilindungi oleh tiga setelan hak izin :
• pengguna
berlaku bagi pemilik dari suatu berkas
• grup
berlaku bagi grup yang berhubungan dengan suatu berkas
• lainnya
berlaku bagi semua pengguna lainnya

Hak izin, dan cara penggunaannya untuk berkas dan direktori, diuraikan dibawah ini:
• baca : berkas dapat ditayangkan/dibuka isi direktori dapat ditayangkan
• tulis  :  berkas dapat disunting atau dihapus atau merubah isi suatu direktori
• eksekusi : berkas eksekusi dapat dijalankan sebagai program atau apabila direktori maka dapat dimasuki.

Untuk membukadan menyunting hak izin pada berkas dan direktori, buka Places->Home Folder dan
klik kanan di berkas atau direktori. Kemudian pilih Properties.  Informasi tentang  hak izin ada pada  tab Permissions dan Anda dapat mengubah seluruh level hak izin, apabila Anda adalah pemilik dari berkas tersebut, atau apabila anda memiliki hak administrator dan bisa dilakukan melalui menuliskan sejumlah command terminal.

Anna Nicole Smith

It did not start very good year for Anna Nicole Smith, although none will be worse than 2006, when his son Daniel died under mysterious circumstances at the age of 20.

The former Playboy model, must submit to her daughter Dannie Lynn, three months, to a paternity test in California, according to an order issued by a local judge.
Last October photographer Larry Birkhead, a former partner of the model, filed a lawsuit claiming the paternity of the child, who was born in September in the Bahamas. A few days after birth Smith's lawyer, Howard K. Stern, announced that he was the father of the girl in an interview with Larry King Live. In the interview also he confirmed the name of the newborn, Dannie Lynn Hope, in honor of the eldest son of the model. In a statement, Birkhead stated that this is "an early Christmas present" and gave "thanks to God that I will soon have the chance to prove I'm the father." But Larry does not waste time and enjoy your five minutes of fame, loves running heavy in Las Vegas, but when he sees a television camera does not take to change your face "I love being famous" by "where is my daughter?". Finally, as a big fan of C.S.I. I have to say that soon we will know the truth, because DNA tests never fail.
